A round-shouldered ginger jar painted in cobalt on white — scrolling lotus and curling foliage wrapped right around the body, a band of stylized blossoms at the foot, and a domed lid finished with a pointed bud finial. The blue is laid on with real confidence, dark in the outlines and washed thinner through the leaves.
Marked "Made in China" on the unglazed base. Put it on a mantel, a stack of books, or the end of a kitchen counter and let it do the work.
