An oval escargot dish in glossy chestnut glaze — six deep wells sunk in two rows, and a stubby ridged handle off one end so it comes out of the oven in one hand. Heavy enough to hold heat all the way to the table.
Marked TAIWAN on the unglazed base. Snails and garlic butter, obviously, but also baked eggs, or six small candles down the middle of a table.
- Origin: Taiwan
- Material: Glazed stoneware
- Condition: Excellent vintage — light wear consistent with age, no chips or crazing
- One-of-a-kind: Yes
