A big round redware casserole in the classic Bulgarian Troyan style — a cream band running the belly, combed into rolling peacock feathers in green, ochre, rust and black, each crest finished with a single white dot. Terracotta rim, terracotta lid with a matching feathered crown, and two thick coiled handles pressed onto the sides.
Glossy chestnut glaze inside, ready for a stew that sits on the table for an hour.
