A papier-mâché hand taking flight — one half yellow and one half green, fingers outstretched, a fat red bird with a black beak riding the wrist. Every surface is painted freehand in rosettes, zigzags, dots and spirals, and the whole thing balances on a beaded green post rising out of a yellow plinth.
Signed and dated 2002 on the underside, felt pads already fitted. It is not subtle and it is not trying to be — put it somewhere it can start a conversation.
- Era: 2002
- Material: Painted papier-mâché on a wood base
- Condition: Excellent — light wear consistent with age, paint bright, bird secure
- One-of-a-kind: Yes
