A small street-market scene worked up fast in ink, watercolor and colored pencil — stalls and awnings along a wall, a scatter of figures, and a bare tree cutting straight down through the middle of it in deep plum. The toned paper does the warm light, so most of the color goes to the awnings and the shadows.
Signed indistinctly at lower left, in a cream painted wood frame with a hanging ring.
