A small hand-blown bowl in the palest aqua, shot through with bubbles caught in the glass as it cooled. The rim flares out in a soft uneven line and the walls taper down to a thick base — no two sides quite the same, which is how you know a person made it.
Seeded glass like this has been blown the same way for centuries, and the bubbles that a factory would call a flaw are the entire point. Held to the light it goes almost colorless; against a table it picks up a green-blue cast.
Salt by the stove, rings by the sink, olives at the end of a long day.
- Material: Hand-blown seeded glass, pale aqua
- Condition: Excellent — bubbles and slight asymmetry are original to the making, not damage
- One-of-a-kind: Yes
