A square block of clear lucite with a crowd of turritella shells suspended inside — dozens of little brown-banded spirals, all pointing inward toward a round well in the center. The edges are beveled, so it throws light around depending on where it sits.
Poured resin like this was everywhere in the sixties and seventies, and coastal versions turned up in every Florida beach house. Whoever made this one had a good eye: the shells are arranged, not dumped.
