A sky-blue cloth hardcover with the title stamped in gold across the front and down the spine. Inside, full-page color plates of the Rio Grande, the Colorado, the Salmon River at sunset — that deep, saturated seventies nature photography that makes everything look a little mythic.
Published in 1973 by Outdoor World out of Waukesha, Wisconsin. The pages have gone warm at the edges the way seventies paper does, and there's a little toning to the endpapers — proof it sat on somebody's shelf for fifty years.
Stack it spine-out on a coffee table.
