A low, wide-shouldered vase thrown in stoneware and glazed in a mottled tortoiseshell — rust and burnt orange broken up with runs of ochre and near-black where the glaze pooled in the throwing rings. A single fat loop handle springs off one side, ending in a little tail where it was pressed home.
Signed "Chuck" in the unglazed foot. The neck is narrow enough for one good branch and nothing else, which is the point.
- Material: Wheel-thrown stoneware, mottled rust glaze
- Condition: Good vintage — light wear consistent with age, a few small glaze skips on the body and handle, no chips or cracks
- One-of-a-kind: Yes
