An urn-shaped vase worked all over in raised relief — angelfish and butterfly fish drifting past waving kelp, a bed of coral banked around the foot, every scale and frond piped up off the surface and then hand-painted. The palette is all soft sherbet: powder blue, apricot, seafoam, coral pink, with a pink collar at the neck and foot and a gilt band around the rim.
Marked on the base "for decorative purpose only, not for food use" beside a small blue maker's stamp. Somebody spent real time on this one — the raised slipwork is the kind of detail that doesn't survive a fast production line.
Big enough to matter on a mantel or an entry table, and it holds dried stems beautifully.
